GRAFTMIND

A tower defense game where you fight next to your base.

Robots made from scrap attack the Core from every side. You walk the field, shoot, grab Scrap and build while the fight goes on. There is no pause to build.

Steam page coming soon.

How it plays

REC · LAST STAND

01

Defend the Core

If the Core breaks, the run is over. Robots come at it from every side, and they keep coming while you build. Generators, Turrets, Arc Spires and Overclock Relays all go down in the middle of the fight.

Turrets need power, so every build is also a question of where your power reaches. Claim Power Nodes out in the field to build further from the Core.

REC · ASHEN FOUNDRY

02

You're out there too

You don't watch from above. You're the Operator, out on the field with a gun, picking up the Scrap every wrecked robot drops. The turrets do a lot of the work, but they won't hold the Core on their own.

03

Pick one of three

Every level up gives you a choice: longer turret range, a faster gun, thicker plating, a laser drone that follows you around. You get stronger as the run goes on, and a run lasts about fifteen minutes.

Between runs, plug the chips you pull from wrecked machines into the Core. They carry over, and you can train them with data from earlier runs.

A burnt-out factory. Heavier robots show up earlier.

A broken power network. Shielded formations and signal storms.

// COGNITION GRID

Train what you salvage

Wrecked machines sometimes drop Models. Between runs you plug them into the Core on the Cognition Grid, and each one adds its own upgrades to your next runs. Every Model has a Load, and the Grid only holds so much.

The Cognition Grid: Models plugged into slots around the Core, with the list of recovered Models on the right
  • 44Models to find. Some only drop from a zone's Guardian.
  • 3→6Grid slots. You start with three and unlock the rest with Training Data.
  • 8ranks per Model. Each rank makes its upgrade stronger.

Then you train them

Your runs earn Training Data. Spend it in the Training Lab. Rank Up makes a Model's upgrade stronger, guaranteed. Reduce Load retrains it so it takes less room on the Grid. A retrain only sticks if the new checkpoint beats the old one. If it doesn't, you keep the old one.

And yes, it prints a PyTorch-style training log and draws the loss curves while it runs. This copy runs in your browser with the same numbers and the same log as the game. Go ahead, it's free here.
